This is a scan from an old woodblock print showing two Japanese Naval Flags. One is the usual red sun, but the other is new to me - a red horizontal zigzag over what appears to be a red anchor, on a white field.
This will be used for a book on the forces of the Boxer Uprising.

It looks like the flag of Marine Ministers shown in Flaggenbuch 1939 [neu39]
but the difference is that there is only one "wavy" stripe as opposed to
two in Flaggenbuch.
